Ayurvedic Therapist & Practitioner

I am an Ayurvedic therapist and practitioner, trained under the renowned Ayurvedic and Medical doctor Dr Deepa in London.

My life of natural healing begun as a child being brought up with alternative medicine from my mother who is an acupuncturist and homeopathist. I wanted to follow in my mother’s footsteps and continue to spread the wealth of natural medicine however my interests were drawn to Ayurveda. I fell in love with the philosophy of Ayurveda and the complete health system that is tailored to each individual person. After exploring India I learnt more about Ayurveda and immersed myself into the culture, I then decided to complete my studies in London.

I have since practised in Portugal, India and various retreats around Europe. I now reside in East London where I practise at STC Rest Rooms in Hackney Wick under Ayurveda Prem. I am also a co-director of Yovedic retreats, holding Ayurvedic, Yoga and Vegan retreats around the world, please get in touch if you would like to know more.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a natural healing system based from India that aims at achieving physical and mental harmony with nature. This ancient knowledge derives from Sanskrit text which dates back over 5000 years. Ayurveda translates from Sanskrit to the ‘science of life’ (Ayu meaning life and Veda meaning science). This is a complete health system for the mind, body and soul. Ayurveda believes that we are each made up of a unique combination of the five great elements of space, air, fire, water and earth. These five elements combine to create the 3 energies, the dosha’s. The three dosha’s are Vata (space & air), Pitta (fire & water) and Kapha (water & earth) and they together govern the physiological and psychological processes of our beings. Using this system, we are able to identify how they vary and exist within us to create our individual constitution as well as our imbalances. Once this is identified we are able to use Ayurvedic techniques to reduce our current imbalance’s and bring us back to our true individual constitution and stay in harmony with this to live in ultimate health. The Ayurvedic techniques we use to do this are various massage treatments, herbal remedies, detoxifications, diet, yoga, meditation and lifestyle changes.

Ayurveda gives us the tools to become our own healer. It allows us to learn more about ourselves and how we can best compliment our mind, body and soul wherever we may be.

‘Ayurveda Prem’ translates from Sanskrit to ‘Love the science of life’. This name was created through my love of the knowledge of Ayurveda and how it has helped me and others around me. Ayurveda connects us to our true selves and helps us to love ourselves even more and take care of our own bodies. I hope you will join me in this love of knowledge and love for yourself.
